Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is the eighth studio album by the English rock band the Beatles
Since the Lonely Hearts Club Band belongs to Sgt. Pepper, it is possessive, thus "Sgt. Sgt. Pepper was the first pop album to come with printed lyrics on the cover. The title is a parody of American bands who were choosing ridiculously long names for their groups. Twelve years after "Sgt . Also on the bill were Procol Harum, Denny Laine, and the Chiffons; and at the time Procol Harum's "A Whiter Shade of Pale" was at on the United Kingdom's Singles chart.
Pepper’s cover features a collage of 57 images of celebrities behind The Beatles, dressed in colourful military garb, mocking the trend of military fashion at the time. The lyrics were printed on the back cover of the LP, marking the first time that had ever been done. The 30 March 1967 photo session with Cooper also produced the back cover (just the Beatles, with Paul with his back at the camera) and the inside gatefold (a close up of the Fab Four).
