In 1982 the band released their debut LP This is the Master Brew, followed by the EP Get on Board the Stick Men in 1983. In 2007, Levin released a solo album entitled Stick Man, consisting of pieces recorded on the Chapman Stick, featuring his King Crimson bandmate Pat Mastelotto on drums. This then led to the formation of the band Stick Men by Mastelotto, Levin and Chapman Stick player Michael Bernier. The band released its first album Soup in 2010. Bernier left shortly after the release of Soup, to be replaced by Markus Reuter in early August 2010.
Insatiable collects all of the Stick Men 's recorded output (1982's This Is the Master Brew and 1983's Get on Board the Stick Men ) and adds three live tracks and a 20-minute QuickTime video of live footage from 1981 to 1983. This is the complete, ultimate Stick Men release. Led by singer/guitarist Peter L. Baker, the band blended raw punk energy with funk grooves, no-wave/new wave cheesy synths and hairdos, avant-garde complexity, and incredible stop-on-a-dime musicianship into something absolutely impossible to categorize but both very contagious and mind-boggling

Get on Board the Stick Men 12" EP (1983, Red Records). Insatiable CD retrospective (2001, Cuneiform Records). In 1784 funky meaning musty was first documented, which, in turn, in early jam sessions, musicians would encourage one another to get down by telling one another, Now, put some stank on it. At least as early as 1907, jazz songs carried titles such as Funky, as late as the 1950s and early 1960s, when funk and funky were used increasingly in the context of jazz music, the terms still were considered indelicate and inappropriate for use in polite company.
Stick Men biography Stick Men is a new Eclectic Prog supergroup - a power trio with members that do not need special introductions: they're Tony Levin and Michael Bernier (both, of course, on Chapman Sticks and vocal duties; Bernier occasionally occupying the drummer's stool as well) and Pat Mastelotto on drumsticks. Having Pat Mastelotto and Tony Levin both KING CRIMSON members on board is reason enough alone for me to be surprised I haven't checked these guys out yet. Markus Reuter rounds out this American power trio who are obviously riding the "Make America great again" wave adding his Touch guitars to Levin's Chapman Stick and Pat's muscular drumming. With their debut album "Soup" in 2010 the Stick Men positioned themselves as possible heirs to the now vacant throne of the Crimson King, but that claim may have been a little premature.
