Arthur (born Artur) Rubinstein was a Polish virtuoso pianist. Born: January 28, 1887, Łódź, Poland. Died: December 20, 1982, Geneva, Switzerland.
Arthur Rubinstein’s 82 years before the public comprised one of the longest and most fulfilling piano careers in history. He adored giving concerts, and audiences in turn responded to the communicative immediacy and emotional balance governing the pianist’s red-blooded and generous approach to music making. This collection is similar to Sony/BMG’s Heifetz Complete Album Collection in that common sense and logic govern the label’s original jacket program conception. Although Rubinstein disparaged his 1946 Chopin Préludes as not good enough, I’m drawn to their angular, hard-hitting countenance, avoidance of surface charm, and lack of sentimentality.

About Arthur Rubinstein. Warm, lyrical, and aristocratic in his interpretations, Artur Rubinstein performed impressively into extremely old age, and he was a keyboard prodigy almost from the time he could climb onto a piano bench. At age three he impressed Joseph Joachim, and by the age of seven he was playing Mozart, Schubert, and Mendelssohn at a charity concert in his hometown. In Warsaw, he had piano lessons with Alexander Róóycki; then in 1897 he was sent to Berlin to study piano with Heinrich Barth and theory with Robert Kahn and Max Bruch, all under Joachim's general supervision
Arthur Rubinstein - Chopin 19 Nocturnes (Vol. 49) Audio CD. Arthur Rubinstein. Arthur Rubinstein plays Chopin Audio CD. Frédéric Chopin. Artur Rubinstein - The Chopin Collection: The Nocturnes Audio CD. Chopin. I already had the cassette version of this album, and I replaced it with the CD version of the album. You get a sense that Rubinstein is well within his depth in playing Chopin here, completely comfortable, making it all appear simple in the execution. Yet, there is a tone to his renditions that is as multi-faceted as the most well-considered painting-detailed, and strikingly clear. These are excellent interpretations. I highly recommend this album. One person found this helpful. Secendly i love Chopin. And this set met all my requirements.
