The New Orleans–Metairie–Bogalusa Combined Statistical Area, a larger trading area, had a 2010 population of 1,452,502. The city is named after the Duke of Orleans, who reigned as Regent for Louis XV from 1715 to 1723, as it was established by French colonists and strongly influenced by their European culture. Since then, Andersson has performed and recorded with several well-known New Orleans musicians, including Allen Toussaint, The Neville Brothers, The Meters and Betty Harris. In 2007, she accepted an invitation to participate in Goin' Home: A Tribute to Fats Domino, where she performed "When The Saints Go Marching In" with The Preservation Hall Jazz Band. New Orleans is the major-label debut studio album by American singer-songwriter PJ Morton. The album was released on May 14, 2013, under Young Money, Cash Money and Republic Records.
Recorded At – New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. First volume of WWOZ-FM membership CDs, offered during 1994 membership drive. The CD title does not actually include the words "Volume 1," but listed here as that to differentiate from the many other similarly titled CDs from WWOZ.
The music from that CD will now be safely housed on a server in the second floor studio and offices of public radio station WWOZ located in an historic building on the river in New Orleans. Just in case, the digital version of all 250,000 songs will have a copy on a server well outside of the city. As a radio station, WWOZ has become an important part of the city post-Katrina.
