The band's second album Come the Thaw sharpens the focus of their 2010 self-titled debut by giving each instrumental part what essentially amounts to more respect. Like recent records by the blues-crawling Earth, Worm Ouroboros makes layered music that doesn't sound overly dense or distracted, so that each player is able not only to convey shades of meaning but also to push each song along in unexpected ways. Though never very loud, Rath's remarkable bass playing shakes the frame.

To be honest with you, I literally know nothing about Worm Ouroboros. In this case, I was looking at 'best of' lists so far from 2012 and I came upon Come the Thaw by Worm Ouroboros. For an album that was released back in March, it's truly hard to believe that this was overlooked that month. But then again, I'm not too surprised that they're aren't well know, so it makes perfect sense to see why Come the Thaw isn't getting its praise that it rightfully deserves. But, it's apart of the natural process of finding beauty.

The heaviness that Worm Ouroboros create is one largely of emotion and evocation. Without resorting to extreme tactics, Rath and Way craft heavenly gothic melodies on new album Come the Thaw that allow for ample space, notes ringing out into a vast ether, their voices darkly chirping like communications from a world beyond terra firma.
Album · 2012 · 6 Songs. Taking their name from the mythical self-devouring serpent symbolizing the cyclical nature of the universe, the Worm Ouroboros are comprised of Lorraine Rath (ex-Amber Asylum and the Gault) on bass and vocals, Jessica Way (ex-World Eater) on guitar and vocals, and Justin Green (ex-World Eater, Population Reduction) on drums.
