Watch now Michael Johnson (5)'s video clip of album "Bluer Than Blue, Two In Love". I Will Whisper Your Name.
Bluer Than Blue" is the title of a 1978 song recorded by Michael Johnson. The song was written by noted pop and country songwriter Randy Goodrum. Originally recorded as a demo, "Bluer Than Blue" was taken as the first single from Johnson's subsequent LP, The Michael Johnson Album
Bluer Than Blue Lyrics. After you go, I can catch up on my reading After you go, I'll have a lot more time for sleeping And when you're gone, looks like things are gonna be a lot easier Life will be a breeze, you know I really should be glad. But I'm bluer than blue, sadder than sad You're the only light this empty room has ever had Life without you is gonna be Bluer than blue. After you go, I'll have a lot more room in my closet After you go, I'll stay out all night long if I feel like it And when you're gone I can run through the house screaming And no one.
That said, Bluer Than Blue does an excellent job of rounding up highlights from a career that was consistent in style but not in quality. Pop fans will be roped in by his two earliest hits, plus "Almost Like Being in Love," while country fans will use "Give Me Wings" and "The Moon Is Still Over Her Shoulder" as their entrance. Chances are both camps will find the entire disc satisfying - providing they were fans already, of course, since this music could sound quite dated to listeners unfamiliar with Johnson.
I mean, 'Bluer Than Blue,' when I wrote that I'd never been left by anybody. Here's a way to imagine it: You know when you were a kid, and you'd go to a movie, and you'd see some guy, some hero or something, like if you saw The Great Escape with Steve McQueen, or saw Paul Newman in The Hustler And on June 11th it reached (for 3 weeks) on Billboard's Adult Contemporary Tracks chart. Brian from Saint Leo, FlIn 1983, Michael Johnson released an album titled lifetime guarantee. Another great break-up song was an album track on that album called "I'm Gone".
Johnson released three commercially unsuccessful albums before 1978’s The Michael Johnson Album. That disc featured Bluer Than Blue, which showcased Johnson’s sweet vocals, which recalled James Taylor's warm style. The song reached No. 12 on the pop charts and went to No. 1 on the adult contemporary listings. He enjoyed subsequent pop success with This Night Won’t Last Forever and Almost Like Being in Love, but his popularity tapered off in the early ‘80s. In 1985, he joined RCA Records, which began marketing him to country audiences. Beginning in 1975, the two produced a string of successful singles, including two that topped the chart. Love Will Keep Us Together" (1975) also won a Grammy, while "Do That to Me One More Time" (1979). Other hits included "Lonely Night (Angel Face)," "Shop Around" and "You Never Done It Like That.
