You Forgot It in People is the second studio album by Canadian indie rock band Broken Social Scene, released on October 15, 2002. It followed Feel Good Lost, and was the band's commercial breakthrough. Local hype for the album was so big that initial pressings sold out quickly, causing the need for a 2003 reissue.

After the release of Feel Good Lost, Broken Social Scene became a bit more collective, swelling from two members to ten (plus guests) and dropping their ambient instrumental approach in favor of full-blown rock songs.

More than anything else, You Forgot It In People is a diverse record. Unlike Feel Good Lost, this is a guitar fueled album, albeit one with strings, brass and electronic experiments all over the place. There is a lot going on in each song, which is to be expected from a band with 10 members who all take an active role. The influence of most members' original bands seeps through, creating a well rounded and original sound.
Maybe the most amazing thing about Broken Social Scene is how many incredible bands the supergroup contains. The band manages to put each individual’s talent to good use. This brilliant album is disjointed enough not to be repetitive, but cohesive enough to not lose the listener’s attention, even throughout the several instrumentals that are scattered through the track listing. The rest of the album doesn’t hit quite as heavily, but when combined with the standout tracks, You Forgot It In People is easier to relate to than most pop albums. While so much pop is about common problems, it often feels like the musicians are removed and distant. Here, Broken Social Scene is messaging you late at night, because they know exactly how you feel and they want to let you know.
